ASIC's Year in Review Part 2: International Cooperation, Institutional Reputation, and Building Global Partnerships
We have worked throughout 2025 to deliver tangible benefits through strategic global engagement, enhancing value for ASIC Institutions.
Through high-level collaborations in Oman, Indonesia, Vietnam, the UK, India and beyond, ASIC deepened relationships with ministries, regulators, and sector leaders to strengthen recognition of member institutions. These partnerships translate into tangible benefits, helping us provide clearer routes to accreditation, strengthen our international impact, and take part in cross-border cooperation and QA activities.
A defining feature of 2025 was the depth of collaboration with ministries, regulators, and international partners. Such cooperation directly benefits ASIC institutions by strengthening recognition and trust in your accreditation.
Accreditation as a Partnership for Excellence in Higher Education: Elevating University Reputation and International Impact
In Oman, the regional symposium at Muscat University, "Advancing Omani Universities: Strategies for Building Reputation and Achieving Prestigious Accreditations," brought together the Ministry of Higher Education, ALECSO, and the Omani National Commission to consider rankings, accreditation, and international reputation under the patronage of Her Excellency Prof. Rahma bint Ibrahim Al Mahrouqi. ASIC's session, "International Accreditation β A Partnership, Not Just a Process," underlined how accreditation can support universities, ministries, and QA bodies in building long-term capacity and credibility.
Opening Pathways for International Schools and Building Investor and Stakeholder Confidence
In Indonesia, cooperation moved from principle to practice. ASIC's approval by the Indonesian ministry, together with visibility at the SPK Indonesia Roadshow in Surabaya, strengthened pathways for Indonesian international schools to engage with ASIC accreditation and align with global standards, benefiting existing and prospective members in the region. This work was complemented by a strong presence at the Jakarta Education Investment Forum, where investors and operators explored how trusted accreditation partners like ASIC can de-risk expansion, ensure student welfare, and signal quality to parents and regulators.β
Global Forums: Translating International QA Insights into Practical Benefits for Members
Global QA collaboration was further reinforced at the INQAAHE Biennial Conference, where ASIC joined agencies worldwide to reflect on how quality systems can be developed to support sustainable innovation within the higher education ecosystem. At the ISC Research Annual Conference, ASIC's contribution drew on cross-country accreditation experience, translating international insights into practical leadership tools for schools and evidencing how global partnerships feed directly into better guidance and services for ASIC institutions.β
The international partnerships forged and strengthened throughout 2025 represent more than diplomatic achievements; they are practical investments in the credibility and standing of ASIC-accredited institutions. From ministerial approvals in Indonesia to collaborative symposia in Oman and knowledge exchange at global QA forums, each engagement has expanded the recognition of ASIC accreditation and created clearer pathways for institutional growth across borders. As we move forward, these relationships will continue to serve as foundation stones for enhanced quality assurance, regulatory alignment, and the sustainable development of member institutions operating in an increasingly interconnected educational landscape.
