A huge congratulations to ASIC’s Lee Hammond for completing the 2016 London Marathon.
On Sunday 24th April Lee joined over 40,000 other runners tackling this 26.2 mile iconic route. Thanks to the generosity of many kind supporters Lee has so far raised over three thousand pounds including gift aid, to help the fantastic work of Care for the Family.
Care for the Family have been helping families since 1988, and in recent years have helped some of those very close to Lee through their Bereaved Parent Support network. This is a network which ASIC Chairman, Maurice Dimmock and his wife Margaret have been involved with for several years, since the loss of their youngest daughter Emma. The charity ASIC supports is The Rose Education Foundation which was also established in 2008 in Emma’s memory.
Care for the Family’s Bereaved Parent network offers support and care for families dealing with the loss of a child. They offer a befriending scheme, putting people in touch with those who have faced similar situations. They also run special support days and weekends through the year in various parts of the UK, providing time away and space for reflection in a safe and caring environment.
